For my boyfriend’s niece, Nevaeh’s 1st birthday, I made this Minnie Mouse cake. The darn thing ended up weighing at least 10 pounds! I was pretty large with plenty leftover after serving at party of about 30.
The face is 2 layers yellow cake, 10″ round, with strawberry butter cream frosting as filling. Tinted “plain” butter cream on the face. The ears are 6″ 2 layer rounds, carved to follow the curve of the “face”. One ear is chocolate with fudge frosting filling. The other is white cake with plain butter cream filling. Both are covered in fudge frosting. The fudge frosting is used to do the dark details on the face as well. I used the strawberry butter cream around the sides of the entire cake.
Wrote Happy Birthday message around the outside of the cake. Didn’t get a good photos of that part though.
