This Minnie Mouse Birthday Cake took about 3 hours to make. I started off with Duncan Hines Golden Yellow cake mix. I baked 2 6in cakes. Once baked I leveled the cake off. Each 6 in cake I sliced in half and filled with butter cream icing.
I then put all 4 pieces on top of each other. I dyed the icing a light pink color and iced the whole cake. Once the cake was covered I let it sit for a little while and let the icing harden a little. I then grabbed a piece of parchment paper and smoothed any bumps that the cake might have.
Once done with that step I grabbed some fondant and tinted it in black (Minnie) and pink (for center of bow and dots on bow). With white fondant I cut out little circles to put around the cake and also cut out Minnie’s bow. I then put all the pieces together.
