I made this Minnie Mouse Birthday Cake Design for my niece’s birthday. We were having a Minnie Mouse theme. I baked two 10″ layers in spring form pans, one chocolate and one vanilla, which I colored pink to match. I used butter cream icing between the layers and to ice the cake. I made rice cereal treats and formed it into a dome and two disk for the hat. I then made modeling chocolate using dark semi sweet chips. I rolled out the modeling chocolate and covered the dome and the two disk. I used skewers to hold the ear disk onto the dome and then went over it with black food coloring. I rolled out black fondant and cut large and small circles out to make the Minnies on the side, and rolled out pink to make the bows.
I used real ribbon to go around the bottom and make the bow on top. I then simply sat the Minnie Mouse hat on top of the cake, added the bow and did the writing with pink butter cream. I also used pink fondant for the tiny pink flowers on the sides of the cake.
