I wanted to do a Minnie Mouse cake for my 1 year old so I found a picture of Minnie and went for it! I used a round cake tin and 2 cupcakes for Minnie’s ears!
I am not much of a baker so I use Green’s Vanilla Cake Packets – they taste really good and everyone that tries it can’t believe how nice it is and ask for the recipe! Really moist!
I prepared the icing using the butter/milk and icing sugar frosting – mix all the appropriate colours up ready to go! I started with Minnie’s skin toned area first then did the black areas around the top of her head and ears along with her mouth.
For her eyes I mixed icing sugar and water to a thick doughy consistency and rolled it with my fingers and shaped it to make her eyes and layed it on top of the icing.
Once all the icing work was finished I placed the ribbon on top to complete the Minnie look!!
And there you have it….Minnie Mouse! The kids loved it! This cake didn’t take that long at all – baking time was 40 minutes plus cooling time.
Icing time would have been around 1hr! Quite simple really!
