This Minnie Mouse cake was made for a first birthday party for one of my sister’s friends. I used the Wilton Mickey Mouse Pan and converted it to a girl with a few pink touches and eyelashes. The cake by far has been one of my favorites to make.
The cake itself was a marble cake and the cake frosting was done with buttercream icing using a star tip. The eyes were smoothed with cornstarch.
The only problem ended up being the black frosting that got everywhere! A suggestion for next time would be to coat the ears in either crushed chocolate cookies or even chocolate chips. That way people’s mouths won’t turn black.
The bow is just a standard premade bow that I bought at a craft store.
As always you want to let the cake cool completely after baking in order to avoid the inevitable melting of the frosting if you make it from scratch.
Love your cake.. I am planning my daughter’s first birthday party and I want to make that her a Minnie mouse cake. Ive been searching for that pan high and low, still cant find it. I wonder if it was discontinued. Where did you get yours? Thank you so much!
Same here, did you find one?
I ordered my mickey mouse pan from party express.com, was around 15 bucks.
I saw a Mickey Mouse pan at Michaels in the baking supplies section
Hi!
I wanted to know do you make these cakes for other people and how much do you charge? Thanks in advance.
