This Monster Truck Birthday Cake Design was totally a group effort! Because my son loves anything that drives especially monster trucks, I wanted to do a monster truck cake and needed my husband’s help. He built a small stand for the cake out of wood that would be tall enough for the tires but small enough that the cake would be supported without sticking out. I then covered it in foil.
The Cake itself is two 13 x 9 cakes with filling in between and then a cake made in a loaf pan for the cab of the truck. We did some trimming for details. For the tires and wheels we used rice crispie treats cut in circles and layered in twos so that I could cut out a circle for the top layer for the wheel to fit into. The rice crispie tire was covered in melted baking chocolate. The wheels were Oreo covered with foil.
