My son just loves monster trucks and since I had just finished the Wilton classes I wanted to see what I could really do! I checked this site which gave me some of the ideas used with my monster truck cake. A few starting hints and then I took it from there.
This cake took me many hours but it was well worth it! I made the 3D Cruiser pan and cut it to more of a monster truck shape. I placed it on wooden blocks covered in tinfoil, then bought Crueller donuts and painted on chocolate. However, I would not do that again, I would definitely frost them. I attached them to the cake with toothpicks. I had the monster truck right next to me and just used that for decorating direction.
I used a buttercream frosting and to get the brown I just added a little baking chocolate and the darker brown I added the brown color to that.
This cake was a huge hit with kids and adults alike. They could not believe how much it looked like the real thing! The best part is almost a year later, my son still talks about his birthday cake and wants another monster truck cake!
I think that the monster truck cake 19 is excellent. I have a grandson that is into monster trucks. He would go nuts if he had one of those for his birthday cake. I also like how the colors came out, and the instructions on how she did certain things to get it too look that way. Excellent, it almost makes me want to start trying to do that type of thing. Keep going, I hope to see more from her. Can’t wait.
This cake is by far the best birthday cake i ever seen!!!!
