I got ideas for this Monster Truck Cake from many other cakes that I made in the past. I started one day with baking the cakes first for the base and for the truck. The base I cut in half and did a cream cheese, condensed milk and whipped cream filling inside as well as outside the base part of the cake and then I grounded Oreo cookies and sprinkled heavily all over the base.
The second day I just worked on the truck part itself. I didn’t do any filling on that part, just cut into shape one cake (loaf pan) and the cabin part out of the second loaf pan. I cut out holes for the head and tail lights and pushed in a long lasting waterproof tea light battery operated and made the glass looking covers for the lights and windows out of jolly ranchers just melted in a microwave for few seconds and shaped it as I wanted and than used colored frosting in a tubes to do all the details.
I used dots candies for the big lights on top of the cabin and cut one in half to make side mirrors. Of course the tires are made out donuts and inside I found a lemon lollipops that I pushed into the donuts. You think kids liked the cake? You should see faces of all fathers at the Chucky Cheese restaurant once they saw the cake.
Awsome cake!
Please post some more pictures of your cakes.
