I was ask to make this Motocross Bike Birthday Cake by a friend. I have done some birthday cakes before but mostly from books. My friend’s little boy has a KTM so she wanted it to match his bike. Couldn’t find a cake tin, so this is what I came up with.
I printed a picture off the internet and blew it up. I always use Madeira cake as it easy to cut. I cut the wheels and the orange and black parts out of the picture, put them on the cake and cut round them, then sliced a thin layer off the top of the cake so these parts were raised and covered the cake in white fondant icing.
Then I just cut the rest of the picture out for each part. Cut them out of the coloured icing and stuck them in place and piped the finished touches!
Your KTM cake is fantastic, any chance you could make my son one???
Hi, really sorry I only make cakes as a hobby not a business.
Thanks for sharing how you did the cake. I have one to do and loved your creativity!!
THIS CAKE IS DA BOMB!!! :D
What is Madeira cake?
That cake is so cool :) just wondering how you got the colour of the silver parts, was it silver or grey colouring paste? because ive never heard of it before
