This nerd cake was another cake I made on the fly. No one knew what to do. They were all dressing as nerds and then I decided, “Let’s do a cake.”
They all wore red plaid shirts and black rim glasses, so that is what the cake was inspired by.
It was so simple to take strips of red fondant and lay it on top of white fondant and then take the rolling pin and roll hard to blend it and give it the fade in and out color of red.
I even named the shirt on the collar with the guest of honor guy’s last name on the tag.
The glasses I made out of gum paste and then there was the pocket protector with pencils and pens I added… so easy!
