I was asked to make an 80th birthday cake so decided to make a newspaper front page. I done a lot of research about what happened on the year he was born then came up with my headlines.
The cake was simple. Two large rectangular cakes, jam in the middle then covered with buttercream icing then white fondant. I then just wrote everything on with an edible pen and added the photo which was printed on edible icing paper.
I was a bit confused with how I would word it as it was his 80th (present day) yet the headlines were from 80 years ago so I wrote that it was ‘a special edition look back to 1933’.
Very simple yet effective and massive compliments!
