This Nike Shoe Birthday Cake was a first time shaped cake. I made this cake for my cousin who was turning 17. He loves his shoes so I thought it would be something cool to try.
I made 2 cakes and filled them with chocolate frosting then froze them for about 6 hours. For the shape I took a shoe and traced it onto wax paper then when the cake was ready I cut out the cake from the tracing. I used some of what I cut off for the top of the shoe and it worked perfect.
I then froze the cake for another hour or so. I made my own butter cream frosting and colored it the colors I needed. I got two bags ready with star tips. I kept a picture of the shoe by my side while I decorated and it was a lot easier.
Everyone loved the cake and I will be making it again whenever I get the chance.
