I made this Party Animal cake for my young at heart brother for his 60th birthday. I got the idea from a book I have had for ages. I made a simple Madeira cake in a bowl and split it and covered it with butter cream. The face and hands are made from soft icing.
I used a bought champagne bottle candle for him to hold but it does not have to be champagne, a can of beer or the recipients favorite drink could be molded from soft icing. The cake was quite easy to make and I had some great reactions from people about my effort. I had been looking at all sorts of other cakes to make but thought this one was a little different from the usual football cakes etc. I will definitely make this cake again.
