I made this Peppa Pig 2nd Birthday Cake for my son’s birthday party which is tomorrow as he is a huge Peppa and George fan. Was a bit anxious about it as I am not the most artistic person but now I’ve done this I know I’ll want to do one every year for him.
So this was what I did I baked 2 plain sponges in a 9 inch square tins. Then I sandwiched them with jam and butter cream, then covered the whole cake in butter cream and dyed some white icing blue, rolled it out and covered cake and smoothed it all down. Then I dyed the rest of the icing with each of the colours as I needed them and hand moulded the shapes for clouds, sun, the 2 and Peppa and George. I put a red ribbon around the bottom too as there were a few imperfections in the icing on one side but no one would really notice it like I did.
That was it! Am really happy with it as it’s my first real attempt at decorative cake-making. Hopefully my boy will love it tomorrow when he has his birthday party!
Thanks for looking.
That looks awesome!
Looks great! It’s inspired me for my son’s 4th birthday in a couple of weeks!
Thank you : ) He’s just turned 4 and I did him a spiderman, batman and hulk one! Last year was a dinosaur! This Peppa one was my favourite so far though, I can still remember his face when he saw it : ) x
