This was one of 2 Phineas and Ferb Cakes I created for my son’s 6th birthday. He is a huge fan and knows almost every episode by heart, so it was really important that I get the details correct!
When I began this Phineas and Ferb Cake, I knew I needed the base to be deep enough for the fence to go around the base and also to create the look of Perry the Platypus in the chamber that was rising from underground. So that bottom layer was 1/2 chocolate and 1/2 vanilla and I ended up doing 2 layers of each.
I then covered all layers in green fondant. The fence was cut out of brown strips of fondant which I then cut slits in to create the full look.
The tree is rice krispie treats that I sculpted and then covered with chocolate fondant and marshmallow fondant. I piped on flowers and grass around! Mini cupcakes were decorated with green icing to create little bushes.
Lastly Perry….the tube is plastic and I basically pushed it into the top of the cake and then the piece that it took off the top I placed on top of the tube to give the coming out of the ground effect! The characters are plastic. I ran out of time with them!
