My Phineas, Ferb and Agent P Birthday Cakes were hand-carved. I’ve never carved a cake to this extent before (only by 2nd, 3rd and 4th attempt). I printed pictures of Phineas, Ferb and Agent P. From those pictures I drew larger images. After baking the cakes (White Almond Sour Cream Cakes baked in 11×15 pans), I took black icing from a purchased tube and traced the images onto parchment paper.
I then turned the paper over onto the cakes to transfer the images. Then I carved all three characters and placed them on trays for decorating. I made my own buttercream frosting (real butter-recipe from Cooking for Engineers website-ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS). I tinted smaller amounts of the frosting to match the pictures. I started mixing the buttercream at 1:30 and finished decorating the last cake at 7:30 that night. There was a small break around 5 to pick up my son from school. He and his father were impressed! So was I.
