I designed this Pink LadyBug Cake for a little girl’s birthday party. It was baked using a 10×15 rectangle pan, and a 9″ round pan. The sheet was butter sponge, with Italian buttercream icing. The round was torted, filled with Cookies & Cream Buttercream, and iced with chocolate ganache and then covered in fondant.
I used black (dark chocolate), white (white chocolate), & pink homemade fondant to shape the accents, and trimmed the cake in pink buttercream. I used pipe cleaners for the antenna.
This was a really fun cake to make and my first ever using any type of fondant at all and I made it homemade as well! I hope you enjoy this cake idea!
