Coolest Pink Princess Birthday Cake

This Pink Princess Birthday Cake is my oldest daughter’s 7 yrs old birthday cake. I got some ideas from this web site. I bought a fashion doll from a dollar store. I used a stainless mixing bowl and a round cake pan to bake cakes. I just used cake mixes that are on sale (it was Duncan Hines. I used about two boxes for this). After cakes are baked and cooled, I made the center holes on them by using a knife, and stacked them by using regular Vanilla frosting (Pillsbury creamy supreme vanilla).

Then I used natural food coloring to color the frosting pink (I set aside some white frosting for later decoration), and did crumb coat the cake. After chilling the crumb coated cake in the freezer about 15min, I frosted the whole cake with pink frosting. Then I frosted center of the dress white. After that, I used a star tip to decorate the hem of the dress.

Then put the fashion doll in the center hole, frosted and decorated more. I got cheap artificial flowers from a dollar store. And lastly, I used them to decorate the dress. It was very time consuming, but was worth it. Since this was my first time attempt to bake a princess cake, I would do a better job next time for our other daughter’s birthday.
