My step mother has always liked Pinky and the Brain so I decided to try to make a cake for her in that theme. The cake is an apple cake with butter cream icing colored with Wilton’s sky blue coloring. The writing and the earth were all drawn free-handed. The figures are made out of fondant. The cake was a big hit. It was only my step mother, my father, their neighbor, me and my kids but everyone loved it. We got half way through the cake before my step mom asked me where I got the figurines.
I was so surprised that she thought I bought them but when I began explaining that I sculpted them with fondant, turns out everyone thought that I bought them! To this day my dad still brings up how he was so surprised that I made them. It was an easy cake and really fun to do!
