Coolest Pirate Ship Birthday Cake

I used two 8″ round cake pans. After they were done baking, I cut each in half and then used some white wooden sticks (I found in the cake decorating section of Walmart) and stuck them through the cakes. If you don’t keep them in the cake will fall apart, as I had to remake a new cake after this happened to me the first time.

After that I just decorated the way I thought would look cute for a cake. I used Oreo sticks as the cannons on the side of the ship, and whoppers, fake gold coins, and plastic rings from the dollar store for decoration. The sails were easy to make and added the nice finishing touch it needed to look like a pirate ship. I ran out of frosting for the water, but no one seemed to mind.

I love this site and am glad it is available, I would never have been able to make this cake if I hadn’t learned it from someone else’s post! Thank you.
