My son wanted a Pirate Birthday party for his 7th birthday. For this homemade pirate ship cake, I used regular white cake from a box and made 1 round cake to cut in half and 1 rectangular cake for the body.
After cooking the cakes I cut the round cake in half and placed one on each end of the rectangle cake. I put them in the freezer over night wrapped in plastic wrap and the next morning I carved them into a ship shape.
I used store bought chocolate frosting, Rolos, and store bought figures to place on top. I used my cricket essential to cut out a skull to make the mass and used wooden skewers to hold the mass up.
