I made this homemade pirate ship cake for my son’s 7th birthday. I used 2 boxed marble cake mixes and canned frosting to make the base of this ship and 1 yellow cake mix for the island and the stern of the boat. The island is a round cake with frosting and covered in brown sugar.
I found plastic pirate figures at a local store and painted the dolphins on craft wood… pre-cut from Michaels. The mini boats are chocolate zingers. The waves at the back of the board is bulletin board trim I found at a teacher’s supply store. The sails are just striped scrapbook paper that I cut into the size I wanted and threaded them onto long lollipop sticks.
This homemade pirate ship cake was lots of fun to make and the kids all loved it!
