I made this Pirate Spongebob Birthday Cake for my son’s third birthday. He loves Spongebob but also likes pirates, his favorite episode is the one where Spongebob, Patrick, and Mr. Krabs go on a treasure hunt.
I made a 10 inch 2 layer cake for the bottom and I sprayed it blue with Wilton’s spray icing color which I purchased at a local craft store. I then used Wilton’s choo choo train pan and cut the top off and turned it upside down for the pirate ship. I frosted the ship brown and used some yellow icing to add some character to the ship.
I also purchased some of those root beer barrel candies to add character to the ship and cake. I purchased a Spongebob cake kit from my local Walmart for $5.00 in the bakery department, you just tell them which cake kit you want from their cake books. I printed out some pirate flags and attached them to some dowel rods for the sails.
It turned out great!
