Coolest Pizza Cake

We had a pizza party for my step-daughter’s 6th birthday. She wanted a pizza cake. I found this website and saw some really cool cakes. I took the advice from all of them and had a lot of fun making the cake! My nephew wanted a pizza cake for his birthday too. I made him a supreme pizza!

The pepperoni was my first one. I used fondant for the pepperoni and a mixture of shredded coconut and white chocolate. The kids loved it! For the supreme, I found a caramel cake mix. It looks more like crust than the yellow cake mix I used for the first one. Milk duds made the perfect sausage, green gummie lifesavers for green peppers. (I was looking for the gummy sliced fruit…but couldn’t find any.) I made pepperoni and mushrooms out of fondant and took black gel frosting and made little black olives.

The cheese was the same mixture of the coconut and grated white chocolate. I think I should have tinted the “cheese” with some orangish coloring but maybe next time!

  1. How did you get the icing so red? I am trying to replicate this cake, and I have added gel and liquid red food colorings and my icing is still pink. I don’t want it to taste bitter.

  3. What did you bake the cake in? How big round is the cake? I love it and plan to replicate it for my daughter’s 2nd birthday party.

  4. There’s this flavor called in Spanish “emulsion de fresa” it’s like a strawberry extract or flavor it doesn’t let the frosting taste bitter no matter how much color u put into it then u will get red instead of pink

  5. Wilton makes a red paste color that has no taste. Being paste, you don’t need to use very much anyways, but even if you do use a little extra, you don’t have to worry about that aftertaste. :)
