This Homemade Prettiest Pink Gift Box Birthday Cake was for for my mum’s 65th birthday. I started of with making a 14″ and a 9″ cake. I made almond butter cake and covered with marzipan and then plastic icing (fondant). I cut strips of fondant and placed them on the cake to look like a ribbon around a present.
I cut thinner, shorter strips out of modeling paste to make loops for the bow on top of the cake. Once these are dried and hard I glued them together with royal icing to make a present bow. I also cut the flowers out of fondant and colored them with edible powders and cachous. The cake topper was placed at the top in the middle surrounded by loops of the bow and flowers. The top tier was covered in cachous to give that sparkly look.
For the final touch I placed a ribbon around the bottom of the cakes, covered a cakeboard with pretty pearl pink paper and some decorative scrapbooking stick on roses. My mum loved it! Happy Birthday Mum!
looks great…you did a good job
