For my daughter’s second birthday I decided to have a Princess and Pirate themed birthday. I was going to order the cake but decided to bake a Princess Castle Birthday Cake instead.
I found the perfect castle set from Wilton and that’s the one I used. I used a special recipe of a traditional Puerto Rican cake which is moisten with Amaretto and decorated with buttercream icing. The flowers on the borders were made a week before with Wilton ready to use Gum paste.
The bottom tier is a 12″ round cake and 2 tier is an 8″ round cake. Since it is my first time making a special cake like this one it took me almost 2 days to complete.
The cake was a total hit at the party. Everyone asked where did I buy it and how much did I pay for such a beautiful cake? They were surprised to learn that I baked it and decorated it myself.
I am very proud of the final product and can’t wait to make another one!
