Coolest Princess Castle Birthday Cake

I made this Princess Castle Birthday Cake for a 2-year-old birthday party. I baked two boxed cakes (the funfetti kind)in two different sized square pans (I’m not exactly sure what size.) I stacked the smaller cake on top of the larger one and iced them with buttercream frosting.

For the pillars, I melted vanilla almond bark and used it as “glue” to stick two cake cones together(with the two bottom ends touching). Then I took sugar cones and, while holding them upside down, covered them in the melted almond bark and sprinkled them with pink sugar sprinkles.

After doing this, I realized that it would have been easier to put a little food coloring in the almond bark to make it pink, so the white wouldn’t have shown through the pink sprinkles. I stuck them and the cake-cone pillars in the fridge to harden. I then frosted the pillars with the buttercream.

The pink castle wall border is made of strawberry wafers cut into smaller pieces. The door is also strawberry wafers.

I recommend doing the majority of the frosting before you put the pillars on, as they get in the way.

I cut small squares out of the corners of the bottom cake so the pillars would fit better into the cake. Then I tried to fix the seams with more frosting.

You can decorate this cake any way you want in any colors. Have fun!
