Coolest Princess Castle Birthday Cake

My daughter (age 4) is obsessed with princesses this year so I thought I would attempt to make a homemade princess castle birthday cake. When I got online to start looking I came across lots of castle cakes and I thought that would be a great idea. I actually just read what everyone else did on this website and used all the ideas collectively to make my version of a princess cake.

I stacked two 9×13 yellow cakes together. I trimmed the tops of the cakes to be flat so they would stack better. Then I baked two 8-inch round chocolate cakes and stacked them on top of a cardboard circle. I kept the 2 stacked circle cakes separate from the rectangles for frosting then put them on top of one another.

I had a lot of trouble frosting because the cake kept getting into the icing so I put more milk in my icing and made a thin layer of icing first. Then I let it dry and added an additional coat. Once that was done I was relieved and started decorating.

After stacking the iced cakes, I added marshmallows, purple icing accents, princesses, and a chocolate drawbridge. Then I iced 5 ice cream cones and coated them in pink sprinkles and added them with paper flags. This is the first time I ever did anything like this so it took me a while but it was worth it.

Thanks to those who previously added castle cakes! Without those ideas my homemade princess castle birthday cake wouldn’t have turned out as good as it did.
