My mom and I decided to make this princess castle cake for my cousin’s fourth birthday. This was our first try. It took about ten hours, but I’m sure the next one will be faster and look a lot better now that we know what we are doing.
We used four pounds of confectioners’ sugar and it still could have used more frosting. The bottom cake was made from scratch but the castle is boxed pound cake and that saved us some time because we were just tired of mixing all that frosting.
We combined ideas from this and other websites. And the hardest thing was finding the princess decorations. In the end we think this is a pretty cute cake.
I love the idea of doing the bottom cake with the grass area. I think I will try and make a similar design!
I am going to try this for my daughter’s 4th birthday.
