I made this Princess castle cake for my mom’ birthday (2/26/12). I wanted to do a castle using my fancy new Wilton cake set, but this cake was only going to be eaten by 5 people. I scoured for ideas on the net. It was very hard to find a single tier castle cake, so I decided to ”wing” it. I did have a little inspiration through searches (must give credit where its due).
This is a checkerboard cake covered in butter cream and homemade marshmallow fondant. I covered the plastic cones on top of the turrets with fondant as well. It was actually a lot easier than it looks. I highly recommend the Wilton Romantic Castle cake set. There are a lot of pieces, and so much you can do with them. I look forward to using them again for my niece’s birthday. Stay tuned!
