This Homemade Princess on Castle Birthday Cake I made is a chocolate-mocha cake with a mocha whipping cream frosting. My sister in law is throwing her 2 daughters a princess birthday party, since my daughter (12y/o) is the godmother of one of the 2 kids we offered making a cake for them.
The chocolate cake is a ready made packaged mixture but the mocha cake came from scratch that I have been using for a while. For frosting I used a heavy whipping cream and powdered sugar plus instant coffee. Just beat everything together until stiff. So I made a size of 16×11, 1 mocha, 1 chocolate cake and 8″ round mocha and chocolate. I layered them alternately while putting frosting in each layer.
I colored the frosting pink although it already has a tinged of brown from the coffee but I think it worked out. I used a ready made Pillsbury frosting for the purple swirls, names and leaves. The daisy flowers, crown and castle are candy toppers that we bought from party city. We ordered the princess figurines online ahead of time.
For the towers we used cones, covered it with Pillsbury frosting and sprinkled it with pink and stars candy sprinkles then topped it on the chocolate cupcake with purple swirls.
My nieces loved the cake so much, so happy of the outcome. So thankful to your website because my inspiration came from one of the cakes in this site.
