First I baked the cake in a dome cake pan and stacked them on top of one another. Be sure to ice the layers together. I made a pumpkin cake with cream cheese frosting. To decorate I used white rolled fondant and colored it with Wilton’s orange gel coloring.
Then for the stem I colored the fondant green with the Wilton’s gel and covered a ice cream cone. For the realistic ridges I took my hand and gently pushed down to create a real pumpkin look. Make sure before you cover with fondant you put on a crumb coat of icing. I also made pumpkin cookies. Turned out adorable!
