I made this Robin Lego Man Cake for a little boy who turned 5. He loves Batman and Robin, but Robin wins in this round! I started by baking a chocolate cake in a jelly roll pan (appx. 18×13), cut the shape of the Lego man. I have my own frosting recipe that I make and I dirty iced him first because of the cake being cut.
I frosted his head in a copper colored frosting, then outlined him in black with tip 3. I did use tip 2 for the smaller detail on the shirt. I started with the green frosting using tip 18 and star tipped his arms, legs, and face mask. Then I used tip 18 again for the red.
I buy my red and black frosting in a tube because I am never able to get a good true red and black color. You can, but it takes a lot of color gel and then the frosting texture changes for me. It’s just easier to buy it! After the red was done, I filled in the yellow with tip 14 because of the smaller spaces to fill. I frosted his hands and hair with tip 16 in black.
When I was done I used a knife to spread the yellow frosting around to make his cape. He was thrilled with his cake and his family loved it.
