This Royal Flush cake was made for a friend’s brother who owns a local bar and is big into POKER! It was his 40th birthday and they were having a big bash for him.
The cake is made up of 4 9X13 cakes (two on the bottom, two on top). It was iced with the Wilton Snow White icing recipe (found on the Wilton site). I used four Dr Otker cake mixes and made them as per the recipe. These cake mixes make a nice dense moist cake that doesn’t crumble as much as some others do.
I made myself a template for the card shapes and pressed them into the icing after it had set for a few minutes. I then outlined the cards with black icing and drew in the card details with either red or black icing. The main thing was to make sure that the icing was thin enough to pipe in the fine details.
The cake was a big hit!
