Coolest Scooby Doo Birthday Cake

I made this Scooby Doo Birthday Cake for my son Marcus’ 5th birthday. He so into Scooby, that I had to find something kind of cool.

I went through his colouring books looking for the perfect picture to stencil on the cake. Since I wanted one with the whole gang and the mystery machine, my choices were fairly limited. Most cakes I do, I look for colouring page websites where I can just print a black and white photo to stencil on the cake.

I made an 18×12″ two layer cake, one chocolate layer and one vanilla layer, filled with chocolate fudge pudding and used a basic butter cream icing to crumb coat the cake with. I stenciled on the photo, made many different icing colours and went to town decorating. I think the blue flowers were just needed to break up the white backround the cake would have had if I left it plain.

He and the kids in his class loved the cake and now I’m looking for the next birthday to make!
