Coolest Sesame Street Birthday Cake

My twins were turning one and we decided on a Sesame Street birthday cake. I did not want to do all fondant so I found some primary colored sprinkles that were very large that decorated randomly. I did get primary colored fondant to make Big Bird, Cookie Monster and Elmo and the sign to which I added the twins names.

I used the rest of the fondant to make a pearl border around the edge to cover flaws. When I finished I was surprised at how easy it was. This cake was the highlight of the party, the kids thought that the characters on top were toys and wanted to take them home afterward.

The cake was gone by the end of the party!
