My son is a state qualifying wrestler so I made Wrestling Shoes cake. I cut the shape out of a 9×13 pan. I used icing and icing gel to decorate them like his real wrestling shoes. The gray and black areas are made from white frosting that I colored. The green is colored tube frosting.
I decorated around the cake with his medals and trophies from the season. This can be modified to any sport. I considered using fruit strings as the laces, but I couldn’t get it to look right and the green frosting turned out much better.
