I got asked to make a Snow White Birthday Cake for a friend’s daughter’s fifth birthday party as she was having a Princess Party. The cake is chocolate (a really basic chocolate cake recipe) and covered with vanilla buttercream icing and flower paste flowers.
I made the skirt of the cake using the top of a Giant Cupcake pan which gave me the perfect shape and contours for a giant skirt – I was going to use a doll in the top and pipe her bodice on with buttercream but then I found this Snow White torso on top of a children’s Bubblebath bottle! It was perfect as she had the perfect proportions for the skirt size.
I iced the skirt with yellow buttercream on a separate plate and then iced the base with the green buttercream. I then put the skirt on top of the base and placed the flowers (which I make in advance and store in my pantry for when I need them!) around the base.
Lastly, I piped the green flowers around the bottom of the base to tidy it up and piped the ‘5’ onto the front of the skirt. I left the Snow White off the top until I got to the party so as not to damage the cake by having her slide off!
This cake was really simple but also really effective and so much fun to make.
Where did you find the snow white bubble bath topper? I have searched online and cannot find it. Thank you.
