I made this Homemade Sound Board Birthday Cake Design for a co-worker for his 60th Birthday who is an audio mixer at HBO. The bottom of the audio board was made of two layers of devil food cake with vanilla filling. The top Audio bridge I used yellow cake with fudge filling.
The faders I made from fondant, the knobs I made from Rollo candy. I just added a white line on top of vanilla frosting. The buttons, I made from Dots candy. I used a rolling pin to flatten the dots and cut little squares. They look great, just like they are lit up on a board. Also used dots for the LED’s. Just cut small circles. I used red, yellow, green, dots. The VU meters I drew on a large paper, shrunk it then printed them out on rice paper, they look so real.
The tape reel I made from chocolate fondant. The Sony Head set I made of Rice Crispy Treats. I mixed Coco, and Fondant. At first look everyone thought it was a small audio board.
And they loved the way it tasted.
