I made this Sponge Bob cake for my nephew’s 3rd birthday, when looking around the shops and found that they did not do a big enough cake for 20 people and decided that I would have a go and make it myself.
To make his body and arms I used a normal sponge cake mixture, added icing and painted it yellow. I then rolled out some icing to make the spots, eyes and mouth and finished it off with chocolate strands for his trousers.
He loved it his face, was the best birthday present you could give him. I really enjoyed making this cake and was surprised at how well it turned out.
