This Spongebob and Pineapple House Cake was made as a gift for 4 year old triplets who are close friends of my twins. They really love SpongeBob Squarepants and if I had the space I would have made all the characters!
I started forming the characters from sugarpaste mixed with CMC about 1 week before. It wasn’t too difficult, but Spongebob does have lots of bits and pieces to him and he took me the longest to make. I stayed up almost all of Friday night into Saturday morning to complete the cake.
I wanted a sea green water effect so mixed green and blue food colouring into white sugarpaste. The “sand” is crumbed Marie biscuits and the decorations around the cake represents floating seaweed.
All in all, I was quite happy with the outcome!
