Coolest Spongebob Cake

This Spongebob Cake was made for a cousin. I used an 8″ and 10″ for this cake. It was a red velvet cake. I frosted and then covered the cake in yellow fondant. That was the easy part. I hand made the rocks, seaweed, jelly fish, and snail with fondant. For the rocks I just mixed some fondant colors I had stored away because I always end up having fondant left over. I just molded the jelly fish by hand and added some dots to make it pop. The crabby patties were just candy I bought from the party store.

I thought the snail was going to be too difficult but it really turned out to be medium. The in prints on the fondant was made with a cookie cutter.

Spongebob’s house was made out of rice crispy treats. I made it a couple of days before so it can harden. All of the detailing was made out of fondant. Spongebob was a toy I bought from Toys r Us.

I think he really liked the cake, but it did take a long time to make.
