I made this Strawberry Shortcake cake for my niece/goddaughter’s birthday. My sister doesn’t like to mess with details so I offered to do the cake for her. I like cakes that are cute and fun but easy too!
The cake is a 9×13 strawberry flavored cake (of course) that is iced with pink frosting. The cake topper is the lid from a Valentine box that was filled with Strawberry Shortcake valentines. I piped around the heart box and the bottom of the cake with dark pink stars, and used the small writing tip to write the message in dark pink.
The napkins and plates had large red polka dots with pictures of Strawberry Shortcake so I used red Fruit by the Foot cut out with a small circle cookie cutter to make the dots on the cake.
After the cake was gone, I gave the birthday girl the cake topper (lid), the rest of the box and the valentines so she could send out her Valentine’s Day cards. I love practicality!
My daughter saw this cake and now would like one for her birthday in july 2013. i wonder if i can get someone to make it for us.
