To start with this Homemade Stroller Baby Shower Cake I made from a fruit cake in an 11 inch round tin, basically a Christmas cake recipe with brandy so the main part of the cake would last!
The wheels and handle were made from Madeira cake in a 9inch round tin. I cut a v shape from the fruit cake to make it look like a hood, then the wheels were cut using the plastic top of a baby milk tin! The handle I just cut freehand.
All was covered in apricot jam then marzipan then the pink and white fondant icing. I had cut the daisy’s a few days before and put pink sugar pearls in them and allowed to dry. These were all then placed on with edible glue!
This is the first time I have made a shape cake before, normally just do the normal round birthday cake. But this was for the mum of my first grandchild so put in a bit more of an effort!
Quite pleased with the result and it was a hit with everyone, just a shame to cut it!!
