I got my idea for this Superman cake from this wonderful website.
It was my “test cake” that I’m pretty proud of. I used a 9×9 round pan and carved out the emblem. Mr.(Duncan) Hines and I go way back and I used the French Vanilla box cake.
I made my own buttercream frosting. I used red, Superman blue, and (according to my husband) there is such a thing as “Superman yellow” and black food coloring. I thought outlining it brought the “S” out.
I did use a little too much of the food coloring which made some of the frosting runny but in the end it turned out pretty super!
It was surprisingly easy and fun to make.
