My daughter treated her guests to a private tennis lesson and tennis cake on the court for her seventh birthday. The tennis balls were made of cupcakes. I did take about an inch off the bottoms of the cupcakes to make them look more realistic.
The racket was made simply by trimming a round cake to form an oval. I used “scraps” from the round cake to form the handle.
I used a green plastic table cover over a piece of card board for the base. This was great because I was able to simply throw it away after the party and not worry about retrieving a good plate.
This one got a lot of ooo’s and aaahh’s and was fairly simple to make!
