I made this Tinkerbell birthday cake for my niece Hayden’s 4th birthday. She had a Tinkerbell themed party (being a four-year old girl and loving all things Disney Princess!). I used the Coolest Birthday Cakes site to get ideas.
I ended up using the Wilton Wonder Mold pan for the skirt and a medium round cake for the base. Tink herself is a Tinkerbell Barbie-type doll. The base was coated in butter cream and then smoothed with a paper towel (a Viva towel with no texture on it). For the skirt, I first outlined the leaves in green to give a good pattern and then filled in each row with the green butter cream and the leaf tip.
The border on the bottom of the skirt and the base layer were made with a standard star border. All of the colors were determined by the outfit that came on the Barbie. Lettering was done with the help of Wilton script stencils.
What a beautiful cake. Great job.
