My daughter absolute adores Tinkerbell. She had one Tinker Bell cake last year, and she asked for another Homemade Tinkerbell Birthday Cake Idea this year for her fifth birthday. I decided to make a little Tinkerbell fairy house.
I baked two small 6 inch rounds of a dark chocolate cake to form the trunk of the fairy house and iced that with whipped chocolate ganache. Using a fork, I scratched out markings to make it look like bark. For the roof, I used the dome cut off from another butter cake (I made two cakes for my twins), covered that with fondant as a base, then attached gold-tinted gumpaste leaves that I had made a few days earlier. I also used royal icing to attach gumpaste flowers, and a little door and windows made out of gumpaste and decorated with pink royal icing.
My daughter was absolutely thrilled when she saw the cake. Made all that hard work worth it!
Your Tinkerbell cake looks so gorgeous!
Absolutely unbelievable!!
Keep the pics coming.
