For my friend’s birthday she wanted a cake of her favorite Disney character: Tinkerbell. Being a huge fan of everything Peter Pan and, of course, Tinkerbell, I was inspired. I’ve never been into cake making before and so kind of made this Tinkerbell Cake up on the fly.
The cake was made by scratch as an almond flavored cake. (Whenever using things like almond extract remember that subtle taste is the best kind – too little by accident is better than too much, otherwise your cake will taste too sweet). The cake was iced with cream cheese icing.
For the cake decorations I bought white chocolate, dyed it with food coloring and piped it out onto waxed paper. To speed things along I put the paper into the freezer to help the chocolate harden. When it did you can simply peel the chocolate off the paper and place it on the cake. I did the main Tinkerbell, the butterflies, the vines, and the leaves all out of chocolate.
How were you able to pipe the melted chocolate on to the wax paper before the chocolate got hard
