This is only the second cake I’ve ever made. It was made with lots of love (and lots of time!) for my little girl’s 8th birthday which is in August and we don’t have AC!
To make Tinkerbell’s dress I used the Betty Crocker BAKE AND FILL cake pan (one of the pieces is half a ball shape). It took 1.5 boxes of cake mix to fill it. I then took a Tinkerbell Doll and wrapped her up in saran wrap from the waist down and stuck her in the middle of the cake. I then made yellow, green and darker green icing, all buttercream. I outlined the dress leaves all around in the darker green small stars and then filled them in with the lighter green stars. I did the same up the bodice. I then filled in the rest with the same small stars in yellow.
It was SUPER easy to do (if your icing isn’t constantly melting!) and it is by far the most beautiful cake I’ve seen done by a beginner.
Lovely, My daughter wants Tinkerbell for her 3rd birthday and she saw this and loves it! Great job!
i was really wanting to make a princess cake for my daughter and i have the bake ‘n fill set. i was wondering if you just used the bottom and round pan or if you needed to put the fill pan top that comes with it. and how you put the hole in for the doll
I just used the pan…didn’t fill it. And for the doll, I just push her right in. No problem at all.
I just used the round part of the pan and didn’t fill it. As for the doll, I just pushed the doll in. easy peasy. hope that helped. The cake was a hit in my house as I’m sure it will be in yours!!!
